Red Island beach, the location of this beach is located in the district of Banyuwangi.  Precisely located in the village Sumberagung, subdistrict Pesanggaran. Beach with a coastline ± 3 km is a ideal destination for you and your family.

Banyuwangi government do a lot of ways to introduce this beach to the general public. For example by holding a Surfing Competition in Red Island Beach 24-26 May 2013. The competition was participated by 20 countries. 


Waves at this beach is perfect for surfers from the novice to the professional. Height of the waves here can reach 4-5 meters. But for surfing here it is certain safe because the seabed of sand that is safe for surfers who are just learning. Therefore, the Red Island beach is often used to train anyone who wants to learn to surf. For those of you who want to surf but do not want to bother carrying a surfboard, here you can rent a surfboard with a very low price is 25,000 to 50,000 rupiahs.


Enjoy the beauty of the Red Island beach is not endless. You can play water and sand or do other games like volleyball etc. To enjoy the beauty of the sea here, you can rent a traditional boat belonging to fishermen for fishing or just enjoying the beauty of the seabed by diving or snorkeling.


Besides the beauty of this beach is also famous for its cleanliness. Almost no visible trash on this beach. it is because there are at least five officers who clean the dried leaves and rubbish left by visitors. Here also provided dumpster at some point to allow visitors to take out the trash.


Red island beach is still very natural. with brownish sand. And at the end of the beach there is a hill at the bottom filled with coral. During the afternoon when the sun sets, reddish orange light passes through crevices in the hit sand beach is one of the beauty of this beach. It is said that this is what makes this beach called Pantai Pulau Merah ( eng. Red Island Beach ).


To get to this place, you can use a private vehicle or public transportation. From downtown Banyuwangi this beach is about ± 80 Km. To get there is easy because there are already signpost and also has good road infrastructure. On weekdays the beach is free for anyone but the holiday you will be charged admission.
